Haikus About Steam

I realize that haikus in their true form are incredibly structured and my writing is... well not.  But I'm going to have a few goes at this anyway.

Steam is beautiful-
sometimes.  See that geyser there?
Breathtaking nature.

Water is natural.
Need water in all kitchens.
Especially mine.

Ten Car-Related Things I Know to Be True

CC Image by Heidi Blanton via Flickr

Let's just jump right into this week's Tuesday Ten, shall we?

One

General Motors decided to recall my vehicle this week.  You can read about their gross mishandling of their body of knowledge regarding the ignition problem with my car here.

Tuesday Ten: A Bus, a Smoky Pub, and a Kansas City Weekend

Going into the weekend I had brainstormed "grand plans" of what to write about next here on PK.  Mr. Pihl and I were heading to Kansas City to spend some quality time with his sister and her husband, and their exceedingly cute almost-nine-months-old son.

AKA, my cutie-patootie of a nephew.

Thank you, Google+ for animating my photos!

OCD Much?

I have a confession.

You may not know this about me, but I believe that may I have type-A, oldest-child syndrome down pat-- with a little OCD thrown in for good measure.

Hear that?  That sound is the rolling eyes of anyone who's ever met me.  They're currently thinking, "thanks for stating the obvious, Ames!"

Rise. Shine. No coffee.

Good morning!

Whaaaaa.......

Good morning!

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.......

That's the sound I was making all morning right up until that beautiful cup in the photo above met my clammy,  withered, exhausted, caffeine-deprived hand.

I was scheduled to do a quick physical exam this morning which included the need for a fasting blood test.  When I made the appointment, the gal on the line explicitly said, "water only."

I (ignorantly, yet full of hope) replied, "Right, but coffee's fine, right?  Right?!"

"No.  Water only.  No coffee.  No working out.  Just water."

The Best Tea in the World

In my left hand is a cup of the best tea in the world.

Yes.

I'm making the claim that I have found the best tea.  In. The. World.

It's delicious.  It's spicy.  It's scrumptious.  It invokes feelings of comfort, coziness, and tranquility in me.  And anyone who knows me knows that I'm rarely considered tranquil.

This stuff is amazing.

Truly.
